Greenpois0n Launched Using Limera1n Exploit

The Chronic Dev Team have decided to go ahead and release greenpois0n, but using the security hole found by geohot and used for limera1n rather than SHAtter, like they originally planned. It looks like they’ll keep that trick in reserve for when the limera1n exploit gets patched by Apple in the inevitable next iOS revision. Here’s the official description of Greenpois0n:

greenpois0n only works on firmware 4.1, so (only if you have an iPhone 4!) if you are on a lower firmware make sure you use TinyUmbrella to preserve your baseband.

Initially, this will be a Windows-only release. This is due to some technical complications that we soon hope to correct. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Thanks to geohot for the bootrom USB exploit. We have opted to use that instead of SHAtter for the sake of exploit presevation.

This release of greenpois0n supports:
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 3G S
- iPod touch (4th Generation)
- iPod touch (3rd Generation)
- iPad

Soon there will be another release, adding things like support for:
- Apple TV (2nd Generation)
- iPod touch (2nd Generation)

    Can’t wait for Mac release!!

I thought it was said to be a unpatchable jailbreak? Even though I know there is no such thing, I was hoping it was true.

The Shatter exploit is unpatchable (until Apple releases a new hardware). They are preserving this exploit for next firmware upgrade (if Apple patches the exploit found by geohot, which is what they are using right now).

Oh ok because before downloading Greenpoison I was sure it said that it is unpatchable.

    is it working??
    anyone tested it??
