The official Google Search app has been able to understand you asking it a question for some time now, but in the near future, it’ll be able to provide an answer, too. Google has just announced that the Search app will be borrowing features from Android 4.1, and will be able to handle voice based questions and provide voice based answers.
It’s impossible to avoid the comparisons to Siri, but until this app updates (which should be in the next couple of days), we won’t know how accurately the two match up.
The update is also said to bring an aesthetic redesign, bringing it more in line with Google’s other modern applications.
