Have a landline still attached, but can’t get rid of it because everyone knows your number? Trying to consolidate business and personal details onto a single phone? Want Google Voice on your primary cell number? Google’s just rolled out an incredibly cool new feature for Google Voice: number porting.
Give them $20 and 24 or so hours, and they’ll cancel your old service, and you can use that number for Google Voice. However, you will have to face any early cancellation fees that may be floating around, and in order to get service, you’ll have to sign up for another number.
Come on AT&T, how about just giving us a data only plan? How does that sound?
