GMail has tweaked the interface for the iPad version, with a new “stacked card” interface, for selecting and dealing with multiple conversations at a time.
When you select more than one conversation, you get a neat little visual effect of a stack of cards, so you can readily tell that any action you take will affect the entire lot of them. Previously, the interface had two control bars, one for selected conversations, one for open conversations, a confusion avoided by the new UI tweak.
If you’re a programmer interested in how they used the CSS3 transitions to make this work, it’s described in detail here.

How easy is it to select the check boxes and drop-downs with your finger? They look pretty small for someone who has fat fingers!
