Google today introduced a major update to their Gmail app. Version 2.0 of Gmail is now available as a free download in the App Store and brings with it an entirely new look. In addition to the makeover, it promises to provide a host improvements including profile pictures in message and numerous new animations.
If you’re like me, then you’ve got a ton of email in Gmail and will benefit from the new autocomplete predictions in search. The new app also supports RSVP to Google Calendar events within Gmail and commenting on +1 posts directly from the app. Another major new feature is support for multiple accounts. Huzzah!
The last go around was less than great. Here’s hoping 2.0 makes Gmail a viable alternative to the Mail app. If you give it a go, let us know how it’s working for you.
