This hack is honestly one of the most impressive mods I’ve seen someone do to their iPhone. Tanveer Islam took apart a Powermat wireless charger, and soldered the charging mechanism into his iPhone 4S, so that it would provide power. The extra size of the additional components means that he also had to slightly reshape the rear of the phone to fit the extra capacity. Even so, this incredible mod only added 1mm of depth to the iPhone.
Tanveer does an admirable job of making an incredibly complex tweak seem pretty straightforward, and it’s a hell of a lot more elegant than using a wireless charging sleeve over your iPhone.
C’mon Apple, if a random guy can do this, why can’t it be standard?

This is pretty dang cool. I hope it’s a feature in the next iPhone.
