I have not seen that done yet, but I sure once they release the tools for writing programs for the iPhone we will see some new uses and features that you may be able to utilize.

I am just hoping someone will be able to allow me to use any song on my phone as a ring tone!

There are ways to use almost any, if not any, song on the iPhone with sendsong on 1.1.1, but you have to have a jailbroke phone with installer on it. People have also released software that alows you do put songs as ringtones on your phone, for a price.

I have found an app that works with web cams: htto://mobiscope.com

Alas, they do not have iphone version now. Only for Java and Blackberry
