Default USB 2.0 goes crazy on XP - anyone else?

So I went to synch this to my computer and the phone freaks out. It appears that it does not like USB 2.0 on the windows system, at least mine. The phone was rapidly changing between the synch screen and the normal unlock screen. Eventually it would settle on throttling down the USB port and then it could synch, if it did not dump in the middle of it. I did search the forums and came up dry.

Is anyone else having this happen? It happens in the doc, out of the doc, and with a different cable. The computer I built about 6 months ago, I am positive it has USB 2.0 ports, every one of them.

I'm assuming you tryed a different port?
Are the USB jumpers firmly attached to the motherboard?

I tried all 8 ports, each will do this. The jumpers I checked recently when I did the "wellness" example and cleaning of the computer. Once I completed the cleaning I verified that everything is in place and firmly attached to where it needs to be. The other thing I did was connect a different USB 2.0 device to each ports to see how it worked and that device did not have a problem.

I will keep messing with things to see if I can get it to work correctly...

There is definitely a problem with the drivers. There have been a lot of reported cases of the iPhone causing BSOD's, and other instability problems with Windows machines.

I swear Apple writes buggy Windows software to make Mac OSX look better...

I wouldn't doubt it. I am stuck there too as I run 10.3.9 on the mac, so xp it is for at least a while. After that I will have to figure out how to get all my stuff onto the mac (other than music) or it will be Windows XP for a long while.
