No, I've had a Macbook for about 6 months now. I've been a PC guy my whole life until the Intel based Mac's came out. When I used one I fell in love, now I'm going towards Mac and getting away from PC. I can do everything with a Mac and more than I could ever do with a PC. With Parallels (software) I can run XP, Vista, W2K, etc. in a window just as fast as a PC. I can also dual boot the Mac into Windows or OSX if I want to do things natively.

So, my next desktop at home will be an iMac and without hesitation. 18 years of PC's and now I'm a Mac guy.

After trying all these tips, I finally did the "Detect & Repair" suggestion, and then downloaded and reinstalled (repaired) iTunes. This seems to have fixed the calendar sync problem . I did notice that I had one LESS of the "COM ADD-INS" when I went back into Outlook's "Advanced Options." The one less "COM ADD-INS" had nothing to do with iTunes, so I'm guessing this was the conflict.

A word of advice on the Contacts...the phone number "type" you give numbers can prevent certain numbers from syncing. Three types I noticed won't sync w/iPhone are: Assistant, Company and ISDN. There may be others, but that's what I've discovered thus far. To fix this, just alter the "type."

Time zones. Check the settings on the iPhone as well as the settings in Outlook.

Exclamation To Sync or Not to Sync?

I run a network here of 11 systems, all but two running Windows XP Pro SP2, the other two Vista Business and Ultimate. We bought four iPhones, three of them sync just fine with Outlook, calendar, everything. The 4th synced OK until today when it wouldn't sync at all. In fact, iTunes doesn't even show it although it connects, XP sees the disk and the camera, and the USB is working fine. iTunes just won't see it. I've done all the things recorded here, uninstalled iTunes, shutdown Outlook, reinstalled, etc etc. Nada.

I have now noticed that the other iPhones randomly seem to dupe contacts seemingly without any pattern or reason.

I think there is a bug somewhere in the Windows PC/iTunes/iPhone sync program.

I'm returning my iphone; not ready for prime time yet. And EDGE sucks next to full 3G connections with Verizon and Sprint. The wife and kids are too enamored with all the bells and whistles to see the difficulties in keeping everything running smoothly without a lot of work (by me).

Default Possible Outlook Sync Work Around

I did this twice last night and it worked both times. GOOD LUCK

Once Outlook 2003 has disabled the Apple Sync Add In:
Click on HELP, select Disable Items, select the Apple Sync Add In and click ENABLE.

Next click on TOOLS, OPTIONS and select the OTHER tab, click on ADVANCED OPTIONS, click on COM Add-Ins…deselect both Apple Add-Ins, click OK.

CLOSE Outlook.

Connect iPhone.

Once iPhone is connected to iTunes, select the iPhone and launch Outlook.

Next click on TOOLS, OPTIONS and select the OTHER tab, click on ADVANCED OPTIONS, click on COM Add-Ins…Select both Apple Add-Ins, click OK.

Return to iTunes and click SYNC.

Once iPhone SYNC is complete, return to Outlook and deselect both Apple Add-Ins until the next time.

In the iPhone settings menu, under date & time, there is a section that says calendar. Is it set to the correct time zone?

Note the small print underneath it...

Time Zone Support always shows event dates and times in the time zone selected for calendars.

When off, events will display according to the time zone of your current location.
Outlook has some time zone controls buried in one of it's configuration menus.
