your phone must be jailbroken, and you must use either PDANet or iPhone modem... both are apps available in Cydia.

from what i know these 2 are used to share your iphone's internet connection and you'll need wifi on your pc. What about the other way round? ie. use an iphone which is usb connected to a pc with internet connection and have the iphone access the net via the pc.....

sorry, i misunderstood.

i'm not aware of anything designed to do that, but i wouldn't doubt the aforementioned applications could be setup in such a way to allow that.

out of curiosity, why would you want to do this?

oh it's because my office has got no wifi and the 3g data access is just too expensive. was thinkin if i could just hook it up to my pc then i'll be able to access cydia or somethin...anyway, just curious if we could do it the other way round...and thanks for your input.

the only solution i can think of now would include installing a wifi adapter on your computer, setting up an ad-hoc wireless network between your computer and iphone, and using windows' network sharing to share the connection to your phone.
