Computer trojaned, need help - iPhone 3G

Yesterday I was stupid enough to download a dubious software package and got a virus trojan cocktail. Mcafee could most of them but the damage is done and most functions on the computer are not usable. I have to format and re-install windows. How can I un-sync my iphone so that when I re-install windows, I can sync with the new setup. Should I expect to lose everything on my iphone? This sucks balls. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

well backup your itunes and you'll be fine
i had a similar problem and i actually couldnt boot into windows
luckily with the magic of linux, i was able to salvage my itunes and some other important things

hopefully your contacts are synced to yahoo or something

I tried the microsoft thing. Did not work. What do you mean exactly, back up iTunes? I am not a computer novice but I am an apple and itunes novice. Will I just be able to format a d reconnect my phone and say that this is the computer that I want to use as my main computer now? I don't understand how this process will work

. I bet all my apps will be gone too..
