Default Back up or Sync? what is the difference

Hi all,..

I'm a bit confused...Why does it not allow me to sync stuff from the phone to the computer

If I elect to sync,.. iTunes warns me with this message,.. "all existing apps and their data on the iPhone will be replaced with apps from this iTune library"

this is makes sense if you have stuff in the library (computer) to begin with..

currently I have stuff on the iPhone that needs to be backed up...

what gives?!

help... anyone??

right click your iphone on the left side and click transfer purchases from phone to computer or something of that sort and then sync. you should be good after that

Thanks Juls,..

I tried that earlier..that is, right click and 'Backup' ~assuming that's the logical thing to do.

I'll have a go at 'transfer purchase' and let you know the results.

thanks again.

itunes you have to learn its ins and outs. i just use it for listening to music on my computer and the whole syncing/backing up process. anything else is just confusing. i tried to use the app organizer and it drove me nuts.
