You see that black strip on the the rear bottom part of your iPhone? That is where the antenna resides. Silly place to put it, as your hand will be there most of the time.
Are you double jointed? Then you can somehow hold your iPhone in a manner that will not cover up the antenna region. Quote:

Make sure you dont have the hand over the black part. I have noticed that I get much better reception without the hand over it. Yes yes, very stupid place to put the antena. If I have my hand over the black part, I get horrible phone reception and wifi. I wonder if the atena takes up all that room?
