In fact I have a wireless TiVo connection in my family room and it works flawlessly and always shows a strong to medium signal. However, I can not get my iPhone to keep a WiFi connection in the family room or the bed rooms which are all at the back of the house. So I purchased a LinkSys Range Extender and planted it in the kitchen. Everything is set up correctly. However, I still can not connect.
I get several results:
1) the iPhone could not connect to "routerName".
2) It shows a connection in the WiFi Network settings but the network address is 169.254.193.204 with a subnet of 255.255.0. where my correct ip should be 192.168.25.x and the subnet should be 255.255.255.0.
I have purchased WirelessMon for windows to see if everything is ok and it seems to be.
Does anyone have any suggestions or simillar issues?
Thanks

I had the same issue with my iPhone.I was using mac filter and i could not connect, than I unlocked my Wifi still no luck. What fixed it for me is connecting using the WEP hex key and that did not work on the first time.It took me several reboots of the phone and router to get it working, but now everything is fine and I can use mac filter as well.
