and it gave me two choices, one att and one bnd something. The att one required me to set up an account and pay an extra 20 dollars? Is this right? I have to pay extra monthly to have wifi access?

Some places do not provide free Wi-fi access. You can get Wi-fi access for free but just not everywhere.

I have AT&T DSL and it is $2.00 extra a month to access AT&T hotspots, but it's part of my DSL plan and not my wireless plan.
