Can't Brows Intranet Sites Over VPN

After much effort I was able to get the built in Cisco VPN client on my iPod Touch to connect to my company's network. Unfortunately, even when connected, I cannot brows any of our internal websites. It appears as though requests are not being sent over the VPN connection but instead to the original wireless connection I am running the VPN over. I say this because I am still able to access sites once the VPN connection is established that should be restricted.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?
