Default Best Router? Please help!

I have a Netgear wnr2000 wireless N router. I do speed tests on my 3GS and it sucks. ive tried all the different settings and get the same results. Slow. and it falls asleep and i have to turn it off and on to wake it up. It always defults to my neighbors linksys and has awesome speed. Does antbody have any idea whats wrong? Whats the easiest to set up and fastest router that works good with the 3GS. I was just going to get one of the wireless N linksys routers and try that since ive had good luck connecting to the neighbors with good speed. Thanks for the help!

I have a Netgear and the iPhone keeps up fine with it. What speeds are you getting? I assume you've done a hard reset of the router? I'm using no special settings to get mine working...

Also know that the iPhone 3GS is not N-capable.
