Ive had the game for 3 years now and there have been well over 10 updates, very few of them improvements.

I recently tried this game after all the buzz that I hear about it. Everyone is right - it is pretty amazing and a little addicting.

It drives me nuts when someone swaps tiles with like ten tiles left. So last minute ditch all your crap tiles at the very end.
I pass when that happens. Let them get them back.

It's a valid part of the game.

Often you may want the tiles your opponent is disposing of, such as when one player lacks vowels and the other player lacks consonents.

saying that the game hasn't improved in 3 year tells me that you either don't play much, or that you haven't had the game that long, or maybe you just haven't paid attention.
I've played since it first came out with an average of 20 games at a time and the game is almost perfect. You hit the Facebook button and such all the time? What's new, you have mistakingly hit every button on the iPhone by mistake and your threads show that. Not the games fault.

As with everything on the iPhone, it is very good but has some really annoying flaws. It is not hard at all to accidentally hit the Facebook/Twitter links. I've talked to multiple others who complain about them being in the way and seen countless posts about them in other forums. If we wanted to integrate Facebook and or Twitter into our wwf account we would have by now, we don't need an annoying ad cluttering our game space.

As for the updates, there have been several good additions, such as telling you which are words and which aren't, and the shuffle button, but there have also been several poor changes. In many ways it's slower, the changing of the order in which games are displayed, and the continual addition of ads and links. I payed $3 for the ad free version, I should not have my game cluttered with ads and links many of which frequently get accidentally clicked.

But by far the most annoying thing about the game that could easily be solved is the locations of the buttons. The proximity of the "play" button and the "recall" button drives me nuts; I'll have all my tiles up on the board set up to play and because of the size of the buttons it frequently does not respond and when I go to hit "send" to confirm it which lies right above "recall" the word is completely wiped out and I have to set it up all over again.

Like everything of this nature the game wasn't designed with the small size of the screen taken into consideration.

This could easily be fixed by switching the "shuffle/recall" button with the "swap" button. The "swap" button becomes inactive when tiles are up on the board, therefore making it impossible to accidentally hit it.

Last but not least, the same problem exists with the far right button. It is almost impossible not to hit it with the part of your palm right below your thumb when holding it with your right hand. It used to be resign, and this was far more troubling because I frequently accidentally resigned games. The problem was big enough that they finally amalgamated the button by turning it into a menu ("more") that contained several other buttons, with the "resign" button moved all the way to the left side.

This is way better, as it is pretty much impossible to accidentally resign now. However, the problem of hitting the button still exists and disrupts gameplay as you have to close the menu to continue. Like the problem with the "recall" button, this could also be solved by simply making the "more" button inactive when tiles are on the board, as the button is functionless anyway when tiles are on the board.

These 2 simple changes would make the game PERFECT, and removing the ads/links or giving us the option to would be icing on the cake.

Technically my complaints of the game are few and could be easily resolved.

There's no ads on the paid version.

Yes, anything which has no relevance to the main game and is there to make them money is an ad. Facebook and Twitter links, as well as the links to several other Zynga games are ads. Technically the giant wwf store banner at the top does not need to be so big and headlining the main screen either, although the store has its place and offers things relevant to improving the game.

Facebook and twitter are relevant to anything social, and words with friends is a social based game. Learn how to live with the links where they are because they aren't moving. And they are everywhere, they need to be visible as soon as you are ready to play.
