I am hunting for an app that uses my wifi for phone calls in/ out and voice message. Tried magic jack but can't get a number, tried google phone talk and can't get a number. I'm in Canada. Any ideas?

Hi! Have you tried textPlus Calls? You can download it from the AppStore. You can actually earn minutes to get free minutes to call to anyone. But like any other app, if you want more minutes to use for a call, it gives you an option to buy more minutes. I have tried Skype but I didn't like it. This app is pretty decent.

Nope! You can use textPlus to call or text to anyone. Even if whoever you communicate with do not have the app.

Btw, I don't know what "textfree" is but I was talking about "textPlus". The color of the app is green, just so you are informed correctly. Here is a pic for you to see what I am talking about:

Trying viber. Easy to set up but need friends to put the app on their smart phone. Skype works great for video but costs per call.
