Wi Fi trouble please help!!!!

    When on wi fi in my home i try to load a page in safari but it always tells me "Safari cant open the page because it cant find the server." if any one knows how to fix this problem please help me

    also i am running win xp with a linksys modem and wireless router

    Just a thought....

    Do you have encryption on your wireless router? If so, you need to plug the WEP password into your iPhone.

    Assuming you have successfully and properly connected to the WiFi router (if its secured) it sounds like the notorious DNS issue.

    Try entering this as in Safari's address bar:
    http://64.233.187.99

    This is just the IP address of Google.com, but it bypasses DNS. If it brings up Google the issue is DNS.

    If it doesn't bring up Google then you probably have another issue and will need to describe in more detail how you have things set up.

    NVM fixed it all i had to do was enter the dns numbers in my router settings thanks tinman for identifying the problem

    wait what do you mean enter the DNS numbers? becuase basically i have the same problem with my itouch and i called apple and linksys and they both couldnt help me

    First verify it is a DNS issue by trying Google via IP address (see post above).

    what if you are sure that it is not a dns problem i have been tinkering around with my ipod touch and it seems that changing everything from the ip to the dns and more does not work as well as trying the post above and using community dns servers what do i do? is there a fix or do i send it in?

    help plss

    helo i bought an ipod touch a week ago, im still trying to connect to the internet... it keeps sayin the server cannot be found... it is connected to my router (i can see the signal strength at full)... i also tried changin the DNS address that my ISP provided and also the ones few sites provided, but it never seem to be working... its been a week since i bought it and i still got internet in ma ipod... annoying sooo much... i tried contactin apple, ISP, belkin... noone managed to help me fix it... plsss let me know how to fix plss...

    Sometimes my router does that for some reason. I get full bars but it doesn't connect. All I do is disconnect the modem and router for about a minute and that always fixes my problem. Give it a try, hope it works for you.
