I have read alot about wifi security, so I am familiar with the do's and dont's when using an unsecured wireless hotspot.

    What about EDGE?

I know there has been some security issues with the safari iphone browser itself, but

If I log on to a secure website (128bit SSL), say online banking, am I secure in transmitting my user name/password over edge?

In other words is Edge just as secure as if I did the same thing over my hardwired firewalled cable connection on my windows xp desktop?
