who else is sick of useing viewmymessage? i don't know about you but it don't work 80% of the time:frown: come on apple $600 for a cell phone that can't do what free phones can ... makes me want to put signs on my cars and and trucks listing what the great iphone can't do ..i have over 100 cars and trucks in my fleet that cross the country everyday. ...apple was fast at stoping us from useing the new ringtone hack but still not given us things we should of had from the start.

yea! This sucks! There has to be a better way to do this. I mean really c'mon Apple and At&t what gives ? It wouldnt be so terrible if you could just click a link in the txt and have it open the browser. Couldn't someone write a widget for mms?

I agree. When someone sends me a picture over the phone its like agony trying to go to viewmymessage.com to try and see it.

Does anyone know the reason why there is no MMS support whatsoever? This is just silly, Apple.

Yes. Any time someone sends you a text (SMS or MMS) it goes against your text message balance.

I am so sick and tired of this as well. I keep telling all my friends to stop sending me pics via MMS and send me the pics to my regular email addy which gets forwarded to my phone anyways. It wouldn't be so bad if the text had a clickable link like coinstar99 stated. The msg id is so hard to remember but the password isn't. If anything make both the msd id and pw easy to remember. Something so simple and Apple couldn't do it. I even have to send a special email to the person's MMS addy if I want to send a pic. I had to ask all my friends what carrier they had so I knew the proper email format to send them. It gets better. Only AT & T customers can send pics back and forth to each each via "your number here@mms.att.net". Someone else using a carrier other then AT&T has to send it to my regular email addy. Something so simple has turned out to be so complicated.

I'm in complete agreement. I tell everyone to e-mail me pics instead but not everyone's got e-mail options on their phone.

viewmymessage is absolutely horrible. It's as if they tried to make it hard on users to send/receive pics/video to and from other carriers...hopefully Apple & ATT add this to their list

It just boggles my mind why they would do this? I was actually thinking the other night, it even wouldn't be that bad to handle if say you could got to a website on your phone and select a picture that you have taken and send it via this website, and then if someone sends you a pic, you get a notification and you have to then go to the site to see, but its all done through one easy to use site, um yea..... remember SprintPCS had this before they actually introduced real txt/mms?

Ok, so lets recap, stupid crappy handsets can do pic messaging, easy and straight forward. A third string carrier from back in the day actually had a better system for MMS, and even they have changed. So why can't Apple, a inovative software/hardware company come up with anything? Why can't the nations second/first/second/first wireless carrier make an easy to use web app for MMS to at least make us happy?

This is just all my humble opinion..... Thanks for reading!

Basically when someone sends a pic you get a txt sayingfo to this website and use this impossible to remember user name to see you pic. Its a pain, for such and advanced phone

Yes. You get a text saying:

"I sent you a multimedia message. You can view my message via the internet at viewmymessage.com (not a clickable link) using Msg ID (string of letters and numbers that's impossible to remember) Password (string of letters and numbers that's slightly easier to remember)."

There is nothing to click, so you're left to open Safari and then type in the name of the website. Then you need to go back to the text and try to remember parts of the Msg ID and Password until you finally get it right (since we have no copy and paste). It's a royal pain in the ass. Plus, sometimes it doesn't work the first time, so you need to go back and forth again typing in the complete Msg ID and Password. One time I had to do it 4 times before it took. BLECH!

wow, that sounds completely annoying. inferior to any other messaging out there. it sucks that such an advanced device wouldn't have an easier solution for picture messaging. so receiving pics via email seems to be the way to go for now?

Yeah, Apple really dropped the ball on this one. Email is a much better route if you can convince people to do it.

I will agree that email is a much better route for the tech savvy or people that understand. The issue is with people who have their regular phone, and don't want to change or think there is something wrong with you that you just spent all this money on this fancy phone, that there "free" phone can do. Its actually kind of annoying! I actually think that its a slap in the face on Apple's part to their customers not to include something so simple.
