Thinking about getting a HTC phone

Hey this is timely. I don't know how to link this but on the regular eic news page, Tim has posted a report that Consumer Reports has ranked ATT last among carriers with a contract and US Cellular first.

80% of consumers still want just phone, movie, email, web browsing, music, and games. iPhone wins hands down in all categories. I'm part of the 20% that wants Flash and a real keyboard. But I know I'm in the minority and don't belittle others for just wanting what they want. So the HTC or android is more suit for me.

Just wondering when ppl talk about other phones being better than the iphone or having more features nobody mentions the built in iPod. Since you switched do you go buy an iPod touch now and have two devices? Or do you just use the HTC/Android music player on your new phone and forget about an iPod? I'm very very big on music and phone and iPod in the same device is just a smart decision for me..what about you?

My HTC Desisre has a builtin MP3 on the phone, it sounds just like my iphone "ipod" did. I got a 32 gb sd card to hold my 600 songs. The iphone is a great phone just wanted to change carriers. Maybe if Verizon gets the CDMA iphone I may buy one of those and just get it activated over the phone with US Cellular. Just will have to tell them it is a different phone, one that they sell.

I use Flikie Wallpaper to download wallpapers and Wallpaper Rotator to have the screen change every 10 mins. I forget if the Desire has a file browser. If not, ES File Browser is great.

Also look up Anderweb's ADW.Launcher to see a different way to have your desktop. It's free and easy enough to unload or shunt if you change your mind.

Can't you just officially unlock your iPhone and get a sim card for the provider you want to move to? Cheaper option AND you get to keep your iPhone

I would have to say that was a little out of line there. The other poster was just stating what he/she preferred. Personally I think everyone is entitled to their opinion and I think the poster was civil about it.

Yea, I don't think mine was nearly out of line as imeths. Not to mention me and ip5 were kinda going back and forth for a bit...but I decided to back off because he is the one who keeps deciding to troll here in an iPhone forum using his super nexus n1....but I'll just butt out now.

I wish I could have just gotten a new sim card, but US Cellular is CDMA network, so they don't use sim cards. Maybe if and when Verizon gets the iphone I will buy one on ebay and use that with US Cellular.

With all the animosity maybe it was not such a good idea me starting this thread. Sorry Guys

I understand, its the daily "wow" our respective phones deliver, that has all of us so impassioned and thereby all the more annoyed by counter arguments.

On the otherhand, if not for push back you'd still have a truly one button mouse.

As for trolling, do I instigate. When the topic comes up, the rule I'm trying to go by, is to keep criticisms accurate.
