I heard on one of the videos I watched, I don't remember which, that the iPhone will Sync with your desktop.

I've never had, or used a smart phone before so bear with me...

If I have outlook open on my desktop and am recieving mail like normal the message will be deleted off the pop3 server. When I get on the iPhone the mail program there will be missing that email, or however many I recieved while I was on my desktop.

Likewise, if I'm on my iPhone and am recieving emails they will be missing off my desktop. Same with sending emails and everything.

When I sync the iPhone with outlook, will the mail program on the iPhone mirror what I have on outlook?

if I need to re-word or clarify anything let me know :)

When they mention syncing with your computer, I think they only mean contacts and such. If you open mail on your iPhone before you open it on your computer, the email won't be there when you check your computer. It's just like checking your mail with two different computers. It's only going to download from your provider's server one time.

It will most likely just show up as read mail on the computer if you set it up that way. I currently use a Treo, and the mail program syncs with my .mac account, so I can still see it @ home, on my laptop.

Yeah my phone gets my email forwarded to it from my outlook and appears unread in both. I'm sure the iphone can do something similar.
