Is anyone else's speaker volume low when playing music? I noticed a few other (wife's, friends, etc.) iPhone4's speaker are blasting when they play music. Also, the BlackBerry's speakers crank, too. Any ideas/suggestions? My iPhone4 is about a year and a half old, in mint condition. Thanks!

The only suggestion i have is tap on settings then music, check your equalizer setting and volume limit.

My cousin is having same problem. His volume is so low, you can barely hear the person talking to you or songs playing. The volume is all the way up. A hard reset fixed it for only a minute or two. Also, his "music" won't play, only stuff on YouTube. Any ideas?!?

If the sound is low, you can try restarting the phone, plugging in and taking out the headphones, hard reset the phone(hold home and sleep/wake button until the apple appears). If that does not resolve the issue, restore the device as new. If the issue persists after a restore, it is a hardware issue and needs to be replaced by apple, if in warranty.

I didn't think of trying to plug and unplug the headphones too. I'll get him to try that.

I actually changed the plist settings with iFile on my iPhone 4 because of the same issue that you are talking about. Mind you, it seemed to work for my iPhone 4 but if your not comfortable changing such settings, I wouldn't recommend doing it.

Can you share what you did to your plist to make the speaker louder? I would love to do this to mine, and I am sure others would love to know as well.

I definitely want to share the information on how to make the volume louder by modifying the plist but I don't know if I would be breaking any rules here in the iCafe forums by providing a link to the process. If I am allowed to permit the link to you, then I have no problem doing so.

I'd suggest offering the information your self, or provide an apple link that discusses how to make the volume louder. They have help information for a lot of issues/questions for the iPhone.

Thanks MoneyMaker79 for your reply. Honestly, I haven't found any info by Apple on how to make the volume louder. Plus Apple only gives generic instructions on how to change settings on idevices for idevices. But what I will do is copy and paste the information from the link I used to modify the volume on my idevice. I don't think I would be breaking any rules by doing that but I'm not sure. Also I don't know if this would be constituted as a "tweak" so therefore, should I not put this information in the jailbreak section of iCafe? I need confirmation from the OP of this section of iCafe to let me explain the process on how to modify the volume or to provide a link of the process. I don't want to nor do I wish to break any rules of iCafe forums.

This link from Apple for support may be of some help for speaker volume issues.

This link to Apple's website is pretty much generic in terms of trying to make the speaker louder. But at the same time, that website doesn't explain anything to actually help with the volume issue. It basically just tells whomever is reading it not to cover the speaker mesh of the idevice and to clean the speaker mesh so it clears any debris out of the mesh. It doesn't say anything nor does it explain on how to rectify the volume issue at all. But good looking out though.

I have the same problem with my iPhone 4 sound volume issue and this worked for me
setting-sounds-slide the valume bar back and forth and that is going to take care of it.
