I am writing this because I have always purchased the BodyGuardz invisible shields for my iPhone v1 and I also purchased the BodyGuardz shield for my iPhone 3G. The problem I had with both phones but mostly the iPhone 3G is that the crease around all four corners pop up and dirt and lint gets lodged in between the shield and phone.

I exchanged my white iPhone for a Black one and therefore needed to repurchase an invisible shield so I opted to purchase from bestskinsever.com. I have to say, this is by FAR, the best skin ever! The cut on the "bestskinsever" is superior to the BodyGuardz shield.

I wish I had a camera to show you guys how these corners are glued onto the iPhone, they aren't rounded like the BodyGuardz, they're sharp cut corners so you won't have the "popup" effect of the BodyGuardz.

BodyGuardz: Comes with 2 full body shields for $24.95
InvisbleSHIELD: Comes with 1 full body shield for $24.95
BestSkinsEver: Comes with 1 full body shield for $7.99

I don't know how invisibleSHIELD cuts their shields so I cannot compare their shield to the Best Skins Ever shield but I do have picture comparisons of the cuts so you can actually see what I'm talking about.

Sorry I couldn't find a picture of the BodyGuardz cut.

Below is the cut from InvisibleSHIELD: As you can see, the area that I marked with the red circle is similar to the BodyGuardz cut in which it is rounded off, this is the area that kept popping back up after installation and catching lint. *Note* I have never tried an invisibleSHIELD but the circled cut looks similar to that of the BodyGuardz shield I previously installed. *Note*

This is the Best Skins Ever shield that I currently have on:
As you can see, the sharp cut corners, one of which I circled, will not pop up as it is flat on the phone and not being coaxed/bent to try and fit a certain form, it naturally fits the curve of the iPhone 3G and even if you install it skewed a little, the sharp cut corners make it easier to mold the corners inwards or outwards as needed.

I hope you enjoyed the review. The main reason I wrote this is because I couldn't find any good comparisons between all three skins before I purchased so I hope this helps someone else out with their decision on which skin to purchase. I'll try and upload pictures of the BodyGuardz shield that my brother has installed and the Best Skins Ever shield that I have installed so you can see the difference between the two.

    SGP Shield

    Try SGP Shield.
It has perfect cut-out and actually thinner film than the invisible shield. I've tried both skins for my iphone first gen and sgp shield for 3G. SGP shield is the winner for everyting.

SGP Shield comes a full body protector contains 3 parts - front, back and the sides of body. = $25.45

That looks like a nice skin also, I prefer to have a 1 piece back and sides though as there is less room for lint to get trapped in the seams.

thanks for the review. I just bought the bodyguardz knowing I can return it for a refund. I had read many reviews and a lot of people seemed to like that one. I also heard the Power Support Crystal Film was a good option, much thinner and clearer than Zaggs or BG. I'll let you know how the install goes and if I have the same problem on the corners.

Bodyguardz Dry Apply - Difiicult to Apply vs Wet

Generally I have been happy with Bodyguardz. Once I found some tobacco in one of the packets that my shields were in but the shields were fine.

I recently tried the Dry Apply and the application was harder than the wet apply - less forgiving. I went for the screen shield only. The reason I wanted to try dry apply is because I switched from iPhone to Android and my phone now has buttons on the front & I was apprehensive to apply moisture to the front of the phone.

The Dry Apply is also less forgiving. You can't peel it back up or move it once it's in place! I fitted it exactly to the cut outs at the top of the phone and as I went down the phone one side was off center. The material also stretches really easily when you use the supplied plastic squeegie. The squeegie was also a bit wide for my phone and I had to use the narrow end which wasn't as effective. So I would say a successful application is a little hit and miss. I would go back to wet apply next time and just mask of any sensitive areas.

The shield that I applied was also marked on the front. I didn't notice this until it was laid down. I also have some marks under the shield which look like adhesive marks. I have to wait and see if they go away as the instructions say?

The instructions are idealistic and could include some of the pitfalls that you may encounter.
