Quick ? About streaming Netflix

    Folks,
    Don't know anyone on my physical world that might know so thought I'd ask here:

    I have a 3 yr old laptop that has an old processor in it. Is it possible that could be why when streaming Netflix that it buffers all the time and slows down playback? My Internet speed via the router is fine.

    A three-year-old processsor should be just fine for streaming Netflix. It's more likely your internet. What are your computer specs and speedtest results on that laptop?

    I'll get that info Mindi. I should gave had it handy in my first post.
    The reason I'm not sure it's my Internet is because when, on wifi, my iPhone streams it just fine ????

    If Netflix is running like crap, try the following:
    First, make a second user account in your PC. Then login and test Netflix. If it seems fine the first couple of times you run it, but then starts to slow or get buggy again, your system probably needs a serious cleaning.
    The other possibility is if you are running anti-virus software, it could be scanning the stream and slowing it down. I know that both Nortons and McAfee are huge resource hogs, and can use more than 50% of your CPU for scanning. With a constant stream, it could be more than the system can handle if you have any other software running in the background.
    One last off the wall suggestion: what browser are you using? If its Internet Exploder, try chrome or Firefox.
