LOL! Right! It's fine and It's cute though. At least I am one of the team. With my Avitar who'd know what was going on. You're the only genius who knows the truth :dft012:wink. You Rock!

Plus, I am too tired to correct anyone. Being called Dude isn't the end of the world. I can think of a lot worse things to be called. Besides all of that Hawk is cool! :eek:k:eek:k

Nice. How tight is it? Do you think it might work with a thin Moshi iGlaze case on? If not, does that part that I circled look like it would be modifiable?
Mine is in Portand right now and won't be here until the 29th.

It's pretty tight and at the same time, just a slight twist as you gently lift on the phone and it comes right out. (took me a minute to learn that :p) If you try to pull it straight out, it's very tough to do.

As far as modifying it...the clips might be a separate piece, but they are molded onto the frame, so they don't come off- not without cutting, and I haven't seen a way that it can be done so it can be reused.
Of course I am at work and cannot work on it till I get home, but for now, Modification is a "no-go".

    Review tonight.

Does it look like there is metal attaching this piece, or just plastic? I know I'll have to cut it, but if it's just plastic, it will be a lot easier. I might also just be able to heat it and stretch it a little if it's just plastic. I'm only going to need it to be a few millimeters wider to work with the iGlaze.

The interior is of course the same width as the iPhone, the exterior is slightly wider than my slider case. When I say the "clip" is molded on, the part it's mounted to has 3 holes in it and the clip is apparently melted to pass through those holes, so heating it up will not allow it to simply slide off. The clip actually looks like it's part of the frame it's so tight.
The other problem is that the clips are molded to hold the edge of the iPhone. They are not as wide as a case, so even if you were able to remove it and get the right width between them, there is still a chance it won't fit your case. You'll have to look it over. I'm not saying it impossible, just that the chances of botching it are very large.
Now that I've been using it, I kind of like it without my case.

Things of such beauty such as the iPhone and the Podium weren't made for cases. It looks marvelous in its naked glory on that artfully designed stand.

I agree, but I don't go outside without a case (or anywhere with a hard ground surface). At this point I don't mind taking it off to place the phone in the podium.

I quit using cases about six months ago or so and although it may not be the wisest decision I've made it sure is a satisfying one. There's nothing that feels quite like the naked iPhone in your hand. One day I'll likely have to pay for my decision to go caseless but, fortunately, I can always cough up the dough for a replacement. It's a high risk that delivers a higher reward in my eye.

I agree completely. But so far I have not been brave enough to go naked with the plastic 3GS casing. My v1, on the other hand, took quite a beating - and still does. I loved that thing.

Thanks hippo! It does take a fair amount of courage to take the leap to do the iPhone streak. lol

I was infamous for dropping my phone and being less than careful with it when I used cases. I now treat it much more gingerly these days. Although I'll still occasionally find myself in situations where with one wrong move I'll instantly be regretting not having any protection.

Just today, for example, I was distracted when I got out of my truck. Generally, I'll instantly tuck it away in my front pocket before exiting. I had a handful of other things to grab as well and I didn't properly plan my exit. I walked up the sidewalk to my home with my phone in one hand, headphones attached to phone and my ears, and the other hand held my keys and a couple of shopping bags.

It was not until I got to the front door to unlock it that I realized my phone was in my hand and I had too many items in my other hand for my phone to be safe. One wrong move could have sent it flying to the pavement.

Honestly, using it naked has made me more responsible with it.

Well, if I'm sitting on a toilet, I'm pretty much already sitting in my own pew...
