Hey I was just wondering which macbook you guys thought looked better the black or the white one? This will also help me out because I am still stuck in-between both of them. I went to the apple store hoping the be convinced in to which one to buy in person but that only made it harder. So just let me know what you guys think.

oohhh. Good question. I am also trying to decide. I am going to the Apple store next weekend. I am between the white macbook at $1299 or the black macbook at $1499. I was thinking of getting the black one because it has a larger HD, but I am sure that you can get white with larger HD. I also have a white ibook and I am getting kind of sick of the old white one and the black one would be way different.

But of course, like you, I may get more confused with the decisions when I get to the Apple store!

i just purchased a macbook, and for me it wasnt even a question i knew black.
the black is awesome, although it shows fingerprints easily.
you just whip them with a wet rag, or disinfecting wipes.
it looks so much nicer than the white, although the white is very nice looking.
    just my personal opinion

I like the black, but seems most like white because of the fingerprint problem.

I would say Black, hands down.Nearly everyone I know that has a white MB or MBP has nasty stains where their wrists sit next to the keyboard. They're clean people too so I know that it's not because they just get on the computer after rolling around in dirt. Black doesn't show it's age nearly as much either.

I bought the white. It seems that the black shows fingerprints and such. The Macbook is a good choice for a laptop. I believe you will enjoy. :2cool:

I have the Pro - but if I had the MacBook it would definitely be black. I think the white makes it a bit too white and black is a bit more Apple-ish.

Blackbook all the way. Like others have said, it does show smudges and fingerprints but they are easily wiped away with the included black hanky.

For the love of all things good and holy, go with the white one.

A buddy of mine just upgraded to a newer MacBook in white and gave me his older one. The finger prints, hand prints, thumb prints, wrist prints, etc., etc., etc., are absolutely horrible and are nearly impossible--in my experience--to clean.

I would also suggest getting some kind of protector for the portion of the computer where your wrists will be resting. As others have stated, the color on this area tends to rub off over time. That hasn't happened on the black MacBook that my friend has given me, but he used to own a MacBook Pro and it did indeed occur on that one.

I don't know where you can find these off the top of my head, but I have seen them advertised in "MacWorld". They are usually like a clear silicone protector that just sits on the front of the computer with a cutout for the track pad and they protect that portion of the paint from becoming blemished.

Though they may be stylish, my advice: Whatever you do, don't get black!

I've had mine a couple months now and not a spot on it. If you wipe it down every couple days and take reasonable care of it it should be fine.

Well, I have a MacBook Pro and I use Mareware protection for it. It's really good for keeping your MacBook and MacBook Pro clean. The cushiony feeling it provides for the wrist is excellent. I definitely get another when I purchase my next MacBook. Try it out. I think they have one for the MacBook and MacBook Pro.

Yep! That's what I was thinking of.

    Thank you for the reminder!

Yes, well, I've only had the thing for a couple of weeks now, and had no control over how it was treated before I owned it. Although, my friend treated it with kid gloves, so...

Anyway, what do you clean yours with? Nothing I do seems to work.
