dude, increased battery life, even with 3g. better audio, video, and the additions of 2.0, not to mention thinner and lighter, with a lower price tag. What's not to love? Oh and the bezel if I'm not mistaken is steel now and not the weak chrome plated stuff if I understood correctly. Hopefully that will reduce the scratches on the bezel.

By far the most impressive thing to me are the battery specs.

I cannot wait to get this beauty.

The 3G pics are all showing a chrome bezel, just like the first-gen model.

That's another bummer, IMO. Mine showed scratches almost immediately.

Im not sure but if thats the case my mind is made up for me, because 100% I want a 16GB....I kinda hope thats true..I really like both and now I wont have to choose for myself... haha.

i was hoping that the rumors for the video conferencing would be true... but i guess i'll have to dream on :angry:

Ohh..well looks like im getting a white one!

Yes. The black is available in 8gb or 16gb. White is available in 16gb ONLY. Sorry, should have made that clearer.

Apps Store

So are we thinking the Apps store will be out the 11th as well?

No the 8 gb only comes in black while the 16 gb comes in either white or black.

Yep. That's the speculation. I'm surprised he wasn't clear on an actual date for the 2.0 software, but it would make sense that it would be released iDay 2, June 11, 2008.

At one point, I thought Steve said it would be available today cuz during the audio stream I was listening to, he said, "It will be available"---------

Yeah, there was NO way it would have come out today. It's just not possible. I was thinking end of June, so I was sort-of close. Oh well, I can wait. :laugh2:

I could have swore I heard Steve say "all steel buttons", which I would assume that is the term he uses for "bezel".

Non 3g coverage +iPhone 1 + a map = iPhone 2 ( well for me anyways)

I think people on these boards had unrealistic expectations on what Apple was going to give us with the new iPhone. 3G and GPS is good. Do I wish they threw in a better camera, yes. Can I live without it...yep!!
