    How about Mercedes s550?

Do you have any idea when and if a software update will be available to include Mercedes and other high end autos?

If current Bluetooth enabled Infinity cars and SUV's work, than so should Nissan as well. Same company.

    2008 Acura TL

It is not certain whether the 2008 Acura TL work with the Iphone, i.e., they are currently "testing it".

Can someone confirm that the BlueAnt Supertooth Light Bluetooth Handsfree Speakerphone actaully DOES work with the iPhone?

I know it is listed here as working, and on their website (www.myblueant.com), it is shown as iPhone compatible, but I am wondering if anyone has actually USED the thing in the real world.

Also, if so, what are your impressions of it? Do you like it?

I am nearing my "frustration breaking point" with bluetooth headsets--mostly because NONE of them will stay in my ear without an earclip and because I detest wearing them--and the one car kit I've tried (the Parrot MiniKit) doesn't work at all. So I am hoping that the BlueAnt kit actually does work.

    Thank you.

    Parrot MINIKIT

I ordered one and then was told by Parrot tech support that it will not work with the iPhone.

I'll confirm that the HF850 does not work. WiFi on or off, same result. That does NOT make me a happy camper.

I now have 12 days to decide to return it. I'm in my truck a lot, and that car kit makes phone calls bearable for me. I can't (won't) wear a headset either. My point being, is that I spent a small fortune on the iPhone, and I shouldn't have to "settle" to make it usable for me.

I had the same view re headset. But I bought a Moto H-700 for my wife on sale. Tried it and liked it, so I bought one for use with my iPhone. Had it on all day and the only time I realized it was there was when I tried to answer my landline phone and it hit the headset: Oops!

Originally I thought I *couldn't* use a headset, because I'm stone deaf in one ear and cannot block the other one. But the H-700 sits far enough from my ear that it does not block other sounds -- conversations, stereo, sirens, etc.

So I am no longer in the market for a car kit.

Well I went out on Ebay, and found a Samsung WEP410 headset fo CHEAP. I won it for $13.00. Yeah, I was a bit skeptical, but what the hell, with shipping it was only 21.50. I can spare it.
So 10 business days later, it arrived from China. It's in a legitimate box and has legitimate markings to identify (to the best I can tell) that it's not a fake.
If you have read my post about battery issues or Vaja case, then you know my iPhone went out yesterday for battery problems, so I cannot test with the iPhone at the moment, but did test with my Nokia 6620 (still a damn remarkable phone, but the iPhone is just easier to work with).
I charged the headset for 2 hours as it states in the instructions and then paired it with the Nokia.
It's loud!. I mean Really loud, perfect for the car. I walked outside and called my wife and asked her for her impressions of the sound quality. At first she was having difficulty understanding me, but I found out that this phone had the "static" problem many reported with the Apple bluetooth heaset. It is a bit "line of sight". in other words, it cannot transmit well through my body or my head.
Once I had the phone on the same side of my body as the headset, it worked fine. Depending on how it's sitting in my ear, it sounds a little like I am on a speaker phone, but the closer the mic was to my face, the better it sounded - to the point where she could no longer tell I was on the headset.
I then swapped with her and experienced it myself. I think that the transmitter is a little weak, but other than that, it works fine for the car.
I then tested with walking around the apartment, going upstairs, keeping the phone in a central location, and walking away from it.
It worked fine untill I got about 20 feet from it, or behind a door 15 feet from it (hence my stating that the transmitter is weak) then it got static-y/crunchy.
Overall, I give it about a 7 if I was to pay full price for it, a 9 because it was a total of 21.50 shipped.
