My Problems with the new App

    1. When I go into one if the threads through alerts, I can't navigate to other pages. Then I hit next page, it changes the page number but stays on the same page.
    2. In some threads my post doesn't show up immediately. It only shows up if someone either quotes it or if someone just makes a post. I can't edit it until someone else posts.
    3. In some threads my online status doesn't show up while others do and also vice versa.
    4. When moving from one tab to another, sometimes the app crashes.
    5. When switching to the Participated tab, it says loading but doesn't load any posts.
    6. The times are still way off on posts.

    It is really annoying when all this happens. And, as of now, I do not like the new app. The only positive is that there is a jailbreak section within the app. I'm sorry, but I'm being completely honest.

    To add to the list,

    You can't change signatures (site and app)
    Once the maxuim amount of posts are on a page, it switches over to a new page. I then can't see the posts on the new page, once there is them. Once about 5-6 posts go by it finally shows up.

    Ive found if you go back to the page before the blank then hit refresh all the posts show. Not the best solution I know but it works for now. :)

    Excellent. Here was a weird thing I got on the app this morning. Reboot of the phone fixed it, but still a weird message:

    I couldn't get in the app at all monkey, but it was only for few minutes, maybe maintenance?

    This works in version 1.6.

    I don't believe you can edit existing posts at this time. I'll request that for the post 1.6 version.

    It seems to be consistent with 1.6. It shows others online, but not you -- my guess it assumes that you know your are online. Would could do some additional checking to see if the online users being shown are correct. I'm not sure about that one.

    I haven't experiencing this with the new build, but we'll keep an eye out when it's released.

    This has been confirmed as fixed.

    The last version was a tough release, no doubt about it. A big part of that was due to migrating to a completely new forum software. There were bumps with the app and the site. We've addressed most of the issues with the site and I hope 1.6 represents the same kind of improvement on the mobile side. As with all things we do here, we'll continue to make improvements and enhance the eiC user experience. Thanks for your comments.

    Chris, anything about the ability to change the photo on your profile within the app? I know it's something small, just a bit annoying we always get the 50 kb warning. Thanks!

    That's a site setting, but I certainly think we can tweak that number upward.

    Not yet, but I've asked for them to be in the next build -- which should be the last one before we submit to the App Store for approval.

    The problem wasn't with editing the post, but that posts don't show up right away, after being posted (thru the app). I can edit it.

    As a follow-up, PM's will not be included in 1.6 due to stability issues. It has been pushed to version 1.7.
