I wanted the functionality of the iPhone's headphones with the mic and button, but the sound quality of my IEMs so I did the following mod. Let me know what you think.

It took me about an hour. Now that I now how to do it it shouldn't take as long. They actually sound better than they did with the original cable, less microphonic. I could probably do them for people if there was any interest. Send me an email I guess.

All you need is the original cable from the headphones that came with the iPhone, some headphones of choice (I used the Crossroads Mylarone X3s for it), a soldering iron, solder, hot glue, and superglue.

Awesome jjvaldez, those look great. Everyone who does this should post pics of their headphone mods in this thread.

I have another pair of Crossroads Mylarone X3s (the same ones I did in my picture above) only these are white.

These would look/sound awesome with the iPhone cable, looks like I'll be taking out my soldering iron again!

Hmmmm...seeing you have two pairs of those, would you be willing to sell a modded pair of those to me? I can send you my iPhone stock earbuds if you don't have another pair of those. If you are willing to sell them, how much would you charge?

hmmmm doesn't say anything about the ear piece having more than 500 times the amount of bacteria in a toilet seat. It only talks about hearing loss, such has nothing to do with this thread.
