Hey guys I'm getting a laptop for college and I'm stuck between MacBook and MacBook pro. Any help is appreciated.
MacBook Pro's are much lighter. Plus the specs are much faster. It'll be much better, but MacBook is for those on a budget but still need a MacBook.
if you dont upgrade any apps on a macbook like they do at my school the macbook becomes really slow they also naver upgrade ram or safari etc.
So if you don't upgrade a MacBook you won't have these issues? but you do on the MBP? It sounds more like the Macs at your school are not being maintained and that's the bigger issue, has nothing to to with whether its a MB or a MBP.
i'm a MBP, but i'm also a strong supporter of the MB. it depends what you're planning to be doing (hardcore processing like editing) or you just want it as a typewriter. the newer MB's at least are almost as fast as the MBP, there is a difference, but if you're a novice or just don't do hardcore editing, you'll barely notice the difference. if money is an issue-MB if money is not an issue-MBP
You're right (as always!) but if anyone compares the '13 to the '13 with similar ram (4gb), I think the MBP is $100 more, the lighted keyboard, silver body and sd reader are worth that alone, and the '13 MB just isn't in the same category as the larger screen MBPs..
I'm studying theology next year so won't need design things or anything special. Only need word, Internet, and iTunes really.
If your just doing light browsing and stuff like that Maybe get a MacBook air? They're really nice and snappy fast. (my professor has one and its super fast a fun) In answer to your question I have the base 15 2011 Mbp with the antiglare screen and LOOOOOVVEEE it. All my friends have macs (were design students) And I prefer the 13mbp quality over the 13mb. Plus the 13macbook only has a core 2 duo processor which is old technology Where as the 13 MacBook pro (entry level) has a dual core i5 processor Which is LOADS faster and it does make a big difference in speed That alone would be a deciding factor for me.
I was gunna get the air but I really don't want to get that and then maybe have to use a disc for class or something
do remember the apple refurb store http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC406LL/A?mco=MTM1MTkzMjE you can get a pretty good deal on any mbp... i dont think the 2011 are in there yet..
Just read today that there is gunna be a new MacBook to be release but it said it was coming in April and it's may so is it coming late?
im not sure about the macbook...it could anytime soon... its been a year since its been updated... if it does get updated soon my bet is it will be around WWDC time
That's me! Needed a mac to run most of the software that I need to edit. Run's more effeciently on a mac. Bought the cheapest Macbook and was still £899. If I had the choice though I would go with a Macbook pro.
