If you have doubts, watch these two vids I made with my iPhone http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc243/ltzguy/9ceea4c8.mp4 http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc243/ltzguy/b733f5fa.mp4
Your loss.... Used properly, it WILL protect your device from water damage. There is just too much room for shenanigans if a company made that offer. Folks would take advantage of it.....
They do sell a waterproof headphone adapter as well. The one that comes with it is a general use adapter
Both adapters keep the case itself waterproof. The swimming adapter is designed to let you take waterproof headphones underwater and still get sound. No mic or buttons, though. The general adapter might cause erratic mic/button input if you take it swimming, even if you use it with waterproof headphones. Also, http://www.lifeproof.com/shop/lifeproof-lifejacket Awwww yeah. How I wish I'd had my LifeProof case with one of those on there a couple years ago
Yes, the lifejacket should be here soon! Nice that it will have both a wrist & neck straps. Will come in handy for boaters, kayaking, or just splashing around the pool.
Looking for a waterproof case. don't really want to spend a ton of money, i looked at the otterbox and the lifeproofs and think those might be a bit over kill. I am hiking and my gear may get wet (fording streams and such) I looked at this onebut am not sure...What do you guys think should i shell out for the more expensive ones?
That pic is tiny, but looks like the waterproof bags that fold over and ziplock style close. I have several and they work great. You can hear an type through most of them.
Going to throw my 2 cents in here. I put my lifeproof case back on my phone after a winter without it. I then bought the bike mount for when I go mountain bike trail riding. 2 weeks ago, I busted my butt pretty bad on a 3ft sharp incline (it was basically a jump, but made from natural erosion, and then packed by riders) that I normally jump when I do my warm up on the beginner trail. I slammed the ground hard, and both me and my bike took a good beating. My phone got smacked around as well- BUT 1) it stayed in the holder and it's case 2) the screen didn't shatter, even though it took a hit dead center, and 3) the only damage I have is a couple scratches on the case screen. Is lifeproof worth getting? well, if you plan on taking your phone around with you and it will be at a greater risk of damage than "normal", then I say abso-friggin-lutely. For the same cost of apple care, your phone will be water proof and shock proof- to military specs.
Got the new Lifejacket in the mail today! DAMN they were fast on getting it to me. Did a little video for everyone on my YouTube page. Enjoy.... BTW, fiancé says I have WAY too much time on my hands. LOL
It arrived! (Yesterday) I require a knife-like utensil with which to open it. Aha! Hmm. It looks big at first glance. Yep. Definitely big. But I will never let my phone sleep with the fishes again!
This Looks very interesting. Perfect to "pear" w/a LP case! No dock extenders needed. As a bonus, would make issues with the purported new dock size moot: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=23183
I love my lifeproof case!! I'm a farmer and it takes a lot of abuse and it's been underwater multiple times! My only complaint is the screen protector is really scratched but that's minor. Anyone else have the screen protector get scratched easily?
Yep. It's skinny, shiny plastic, so it's bound to show off its scratches loudly and proudly. Mine looks pretty beaten up, which combines with the Newton rings effect to be pretty ugly. That's why I was hoping the LifeJacket was actually a whole case with a new thicker, sturdier screen cover (more like the one on the Otterbox Defender) that wasn't subject to the same effects. But I'm fine with it being something I wrap around the LifeProof case when I need the extra protection.
Yep, date is 7/13, not 04/01 Looks like a venture capital startup. They are getting near the goal, so they should be able to produce it, if I understand correctly....
