Some people are not fans of Scarface. I don't care for Scarface. When compared to Casino, The Godfather, Goodfellas, or Donnie Brasco or most any other gangster movies it isn't on their level. Thats MY opinion though. I know there are alot of younger people who love Scarface. I think my expectations were just too high for it when I watched it for the first time, and that caused me to not like it. I'm kinda with Coasts on this one, if I see a young "thug" wearing a Scarface shirt I puke a little in my mouth. :tounge:

Thanks for sparing me the effort of typing the same. The whole sect of Scarface kids is a bit embarrassing.

sorry patrick, i assumed you posted this as a joke, so no offense if you have/want one...having grown up in Miami and living now in New York, you see the biggest idiots with everythingScarface...shirts, jackets, tattoos...name it. all poseurs that don't know squat about familial respect.

Oh, no offense taken - and do not want or have one - just think the thing is very amusing, as there were some decent lines in that movie. I spent a good amount of years in Miami as well - and knew a few guys who were aspiring scarfaces before the movie ever came out ...

I dont understand the whole Scarface thing when the closest thing to cocain and other hardcore drugs they've seen is on TV. (for some)

Either way not to offend anyone, but in florida its a majority of african american people who idolize Scarface. For what? i cant understand...must be part of that whole "get rich quick and kill whatever impedes that."

I saw the movie it wasnt that great...all i pretty much noticed was that back in those times Miami/Ft.Lauderdale was pretty much all drug money. Especially the houses/high rises in Las Olas, and Miami beach some of which are still standing today. I forget what documentary it was but the narrator mentions something about drug dealers purchasing land, and building high rises and condos as well as banks...most of that stuff is still here and about how cops were just as bad.

I'm not totally sure why I'm posting this, ran into it today on YouTube. But if you've ever wondered what a deer’s expression looks like in the headlights, this is pretty close.

Guys - I thought this was a 'post fun stuff' thread, which I took to mean funny / comical as well, judging by the posts. So ... I was not posting a Scarface clock as my personal furnishings recommendation for the day - but as something absurd and comical.

Can't believe it has spurred some sort of Siskell and Ebert debate on the merits of the fliippin movie.

It was a stupid, goofy looking clock. Honestly, I won't be littering my Chateaus' bedrooms with these things

Patrickj, things are always bound to get off topic on any forum.

Off topic is fine by me, I guess I was just a little surprised by the immediate serious take on something posted in a just for fun stuff thread. If I was seriously recommending Scarface clocks I think I'd just create a 'My Lust for Garish and Ridiculous Objects' thread.

If I posted a pic of Britney with her stuff all hanging out as she exits a car in this thread, it would not be my way of saying 'what a gorgeous and desirable young lass' she is ...

I was just giving my take on why Coasts might hate anyone that owns that clock. No biggie. If I offended you I am sorry, because that was not my intention. You are one of my favorite off topic posters here, so I don't wanna rub you the wrong way.:laugh2:

Thanks Apple - not offended - just honestly was surprised / irritated that anyone took the Scarface clock so deadly seriously, particularly in this thread. Sorry Coasts - no offense to you either - just no idea why that absurd object got take so seriously. That wound me up I guess.

Man, can't I go camping and then work a 12-hr shift without you guys going at each other's throats? ;)
