When people have "Scheuklappen" is what we say in Germany.
Drives me crazy if someone can not see others way of life (matter if you agree or not)

Just tried it and it worked well, although audio quality was mediocre at best so I don't see my self using it.

The AT&T service at my parent's house in Central FL just south of Daytona. Absolutely abysmal here. Not sure how, but their 3G service actually got worse than last year to the point that it has made tethering to my iPad useless. I have 1 bar and Edge. Would it kill AT&T to invest in a tower down here????

the keypad to my office died yesterday and no one ever gave me a physical key, so I was locked out for an hour. Of course, when I got here this morning, still nothing... I called them again and they told me that they came by and everything was fine, they were checking the wrong door.

We bought a car from a dealership about 6 months ago. As part of the deal, they threw in a bunch of free oil changes. Made an appointment, dropped the car, was told it would be an hour. Came back an hour and a half later to see they hadn't even brought the car into the garage yet. Was told it was because "paying customers" get bumped ahead. THAT chapped my hide...

I can understand why it chapped you! If you made an appointment, they should honor that time frame! Whether or not there are other paying customers! I would have a chat with the service manager / general manager of that dealership.

We talked to the general manager and his exact words were "take it elsewhere, I don't care if I lose a customer". BBB complaint is in the works...

I buy my cars used and have a private mechanic that i absolutely trust because my vehicles run well while costing under half anything the dealership charges.

Let me guess, your next vehicle purchase will from the same place huh? NOT... Glad to see the are busy enough to not worry about their customer base. :-(

Did you finance with the dealership or through 3rd party. If the dealership, personally I'd deduct the cost of having your vehicle serviced elsewhere, from the next bill payment and write the manufacturer, cc. the dealership, as well as boycott the brand for life if this situation isn't corrected to your satisfaction. Post it on facebook and twitter while your at it to generate further negative PR. Can you get that quote on tape?

I practically have zero faith in all dealerships. Yeah some have decent service operations but they cost way too much.

To me there are major disconnects in the business model. On the sales side the norm is 15-45mins of work to make commission on a $30k plus sale and then the guy never sees you for 5-7yrs. On the service side they have hourly kids that have little personal stake in the quality of service rendered.

I bought a used Audi just 6 weeks ago. At the same time I went to the local Volvo dealership having owned 2 Volvo's in the past. I made inquiries about a similar used unit on the floor and later emailed the sales guy a deal and specific terms I wanted to close the deal. I also explained that I was in a rush to close a deal in cash and had a similar offer tendered to a private sale. Two weeks later the sales guy emails me back to see if I've any further interest. What a moron. I'd closed the deal with the Audi long past.

My mechanic owns his garage and employs I'd guess about 10 staff. The guy is in this industrial strip mall with other garages nearby. Six of us from my company alone swear by the guy and the owner knows he benefits greatly from word of mouth. His operation is consistently filled with happy customers while the shop next door is easily half or less his volume. His model; one the owner is front and center establishing a connection as well as delivering any special/out of norm service orders, as a practice he brings out your old parts to the front and gives you the option to take them with you (thus guaranteeing to all the customers there isn't any shady business of rotating parts between customers), he routinely offers you the choice of going with the original or a refurb/aftermarket part that will get you a year or more at under half the cost, his time charge is based on actual time vs the dealers approach of itemizing the work and billing each task based on a formula (eg. 15mins to change out wipers, wtf???) vs giving any benefit of combining multiple tasks to arrived at time savings.

I know though, the challenge is finding that mechanic that you can trust.
