The iPhone doesn't support java applications of any kind. I believe there is a workaround to this out there. Just type in "how to get java support on the iPhone" in Google, and the search results should come back with something useful. Or maybe someone on here knows of a way.....

Ok, thanks. Most of the info is dealing with a jailbroken phone. I will look for other options. It is just ashame that such a high powered device struggles with the basic tasks out of the box.

JB is where the iPhone receives a lot of it's functionality, imho. More most people, the iPhone in fine out of the box.

I recently jailbroke my phone but it made the OS sluggish and choppy.. Weird, I know. So I restored and have been content ever since. I may try again to jailbreak after I downgrade back to 4.1.. Thanks for your insight..

iOS 4.1 is what I have my jailbroken iPhone 4 running on, and it has been performing like a champ for me. So, maybe you would have better luck as well with iOS 4.1.
