Created this to avoid being interrupted by telemarketers who call daily.

Update: This resource is now available in the iPhone Downloads section of the website.

Great idea. Do you have your number registered withy the DoNot Call listing? I think it's www.donotcall.gov
This actually helps cut down the junk calls quite a bit.

Yep, actually referenced in today's article on how to block calls on iPhone. It hasn't slowed down the telemarketers.

I saw that article just a bit after I posted. Some are truly persistent :(
Since you have the number that they call from constantly, you can report them.

Absolutely!!! I like to be able to silence every one, except one particular man.

I even shortened it to make a text tone, too.

Thanks, Chris! I need this, I have some PITA people I'd like to ignore. Now all we have to do is figure out how to have the calls go directly to voice mail like you can on an Android. Just saying ;)

Funny story about telemarketers. I recently received a phone call from a local business trying to track down an old friend of mine (I was listed as an emergency contact. He skipped out on paying his storage unit) I have had this number for two years and never received a single telemarketer phone call. I only give my number out as personal. Never to businesses. So figuring out who had given my number out/sold it was easy. I went to the only business that has my number and asked if I could see their privacy policy that is given to new customers. I quickly scanned it. Found what I was looking for and asked to see the manager. I pointed out the part of their policy that says they can't give my info to anyone and informed him I knew they had and how I knew they had. I am no receiving their services for free for a period of two years.

One downside to the whole 'silent ringtone' option is if your device is on vibrate mode, it will still vibrate. Hmm, I might have to give AT&T even more of my money.

    Honestly...

I went to iTunes and searched silent. There is a ringtone that is 10 seconds long and $1.29. Totally worth it!!

Are you really following all my posts to make smart ass comments. I wanted this without syncing my phone to my computer which is not an iMac so I didn't know if it would work or not. Get a life and stop being an ass on a forum.

    Two things.

That type of behavior is not acceptable here and thus the warning.

You've bumped an old thread about a silent ringtone and suggested people buy a silent ringtone, when I'm offering it completely free. It doesn't matter what type of computer, it's absolutely free and works with Mac's or PC's.
