Is it possible to use the iPhone as a wifi access point/router? So if a person with an iPhone wanted to share his EDGE connection, he could setup a WPA/WPA2 wifi AP/router, and users could connect to his iPhone to use his EDGE connection.

In theory it should be possible as OSX is capable of acting as such with open source software such as wlan-ng, but it also depends on how the Edge is mounted. If it's seen as a normal ethernet adapter, then I would say the answer would be yes. I don't have firsthand info on how it is working at the OS level, though.

you basically have to set up an "ad hoc" network. if i wasn't on my phone i'd copy a link... anyway, if you search for "tether" you should come up with a tutorial.
