My S9 bluetooth headset works fine with stereo music, but the telephone sound comes only on the left ear. This is annoying for me, because my hearing is weak on that side.

Now I re-read the manual that came with the headset, and it says I should pair the phone before the ipod functions. I got this wrong at the get-go. I'm trying to figure out how to remove the pairing and start over again, but I don't see any way.

I can't figure out how to remedy this problem. Can anybody help?

The S9 has a headset profile and a headphone profile. When making calls the headset profile is used and the sound only comes from the left speaker.

    It is working correctly.

Ditto. This goes for ALL Bluetooth headsets that use A2DP and take calls.

The S9-HD had stereo call audio. Several others do as well.
