iPad Smart Case - Apple has done it again!

With all the iOS6 updates, new MacBook hardware, and Mountain Lion talk this case can easily go overlooked. It was released on the Apple web site yesterday. Looks good. Looks strong. Before The New iPad was released, I remember there being rumblings about a new case for the iPad that Apple was working on. This is it.

Below are just some of the pictues of the cases. Apple offers 6 colors in Polyurithane only, so far. I am very interested in these. They look good and look like they will protect the iPad very well. It's $49, just $10 more than the Smart Cover. If they made this in leather, which I think they might if there is a good response for this one, the price would be significantly higher. What do you guys think?

This case would really appeal to me in leather but the price would probably be more than I want to pay. I will wait for some of the early adopters to review the case and if the reviews are positives will get one.

I want to be an early adopter but $ is tight right now, so I'll wait until it loosens up a bit and I'll get a green one. Yeah, Green! I hope it's really bright! LOL!!

If I like it, I'll get some of the other colors. I already have the Dark Gray Smart Cover and a Green Smart Cover from last year, that I use the iSkin Solo Smart with and I love the combination and the protection it provides. So, I'll pick a color of this that doesn't look too dorky. if not Green then Red.

I think it looks great, I wish there was port protection on it though like on my iSkin Solo Smart. That thing is NICE!!

I want it only if it fits in the dock

It doesn't look like it'll fit in the Apple Dock designed for the iPad. That dock fits close to the iPad. I don't think any case would work with it.

That's a strike. I could live with it though. I like the looks of this case.

You share the same sentiment with a few reviews I read and have seen. It seems flimsy and cheap. Not very protective and the smart cover part is not as good as the original smart cover alone. It looks like it's not a purchase for me. Aww! I thought Apple made a good case, I guess not.

I launched an iPad case yesterday on KICKSTARTER... its a recycled paper notebook, with magnets buried into the front and back cover that hold the iPad...

search for NOTEBLOX on KICKSTARTER (im not allowed to spam until i have 10 posts... silly rules)

I came up with the idea because i constantly carry both a paper notebook and the ipad, but they never had a relationship to one another except for the size.

I bought a Smart Cover when I originally bought my iPad 3, but returned it and paid the extra $10 to get the smart case in pink. I love it and it provides the protection I was looking for.

Got the Smart Case for my iPad and the fit and finish is excellent. Hopefully they will make it in leather.

When I purchased my iPad 3 I used the xgear cardon fiber shield III with the smart cover. 2 things I didn't care for were:
the inability to place my iPad in the vertical position on a flat surface and easily read from it and
the smart cover could be be detached inadverently.

I found the moshi iglaze with versa cover and am able to place my iPad in the vertical position, it is self supporting and easy to read and no longer am concerned with the cover being inadvertently detached. I trust the attached pics will be useful to someone.

I don't know what I did to cause some thumbnails to post and attachments for others. Operator error of course. lol

I would choose the similar case but lower price. $38.99 can get a very good case.
