I'm betting this is a hoax.

But if it isn't, why should Meizu care about getting sued? China has a history of flaunting international copyright law as surely as they flaunt a free economy (float the Yuan, boys!). If the Chinese government can bolster their GNP by illegally lowballing legitimate patents, they will (and they have). There's not much a crack legal team from Cupertino, CA can do about it. The only good news is that they won't be able to sell to any country that does respect international copyrights.

This thing has a camera on both sides. Something the i phone should have had if you ask me. But i doubt if it has the smooth engine that i phone uses for their multitouch screen. The prada phone imitates also. but is not as smooth as i phone.

Yes, but will it have MUTI-touch.

I've heard a lot about "touch" phones recently but nothing about MULTItouch phones. I think Apple is the only one.

In honesty, some of these new phones that are being introduced in the wake of the iPhone may look really cool, but comparatively the iPhone is very well priced and (the selling point for me) it will sync with my Mac better than any other phone out there.

LG can keep their Prada phone. I want one that works with my computer and life seamlessly. I just don't see that happening with any other phone.

    Not an imposter!!!!!!!!!!!

So every single phone that comes out after iPhone that has only a screen on it, is a copy of iPhone? It is the only logical choice for future cellphones. Apple has no grounds to sue them! It would be stupid! Meizu looks really nice it's smaller then iPhone (I think iPhone is too big((I may change my mind tho once it is in my hand)) It has a higher respectable resolution! I would have bought that instead of iPhone cuz meizu looks cooler and more handy. No Wi-Fi tho so I wont be buying it =)

I think most people would strongly disagree with you (some reference links here). Even this guy freely admits he's copying iPhone's look & feel.

I've also never heard of "it's obviously the next logical thing to do" being an effective defense in a copyright infringement case.

If you honestly believe that, other than a large screen, these two devices aren't shockingly (and potentially legally) similar, well... hey, I guess everyone's entitled to an opinion.

Apple will probably not sue because it looks like an Asian phone and Apple always hesitaits in sueing foregn companies. But no worries this came out right after the iPhone meaning the software and hardware is much more thought-out and stable in the iPhone. Apple is years ahead of this Asian company's photo-shop skills.

Hummmm, why does China have to ruin things

Well it could be true and perhaps it is. If it is then i makes me upset to see a third world country copy something then mass produce it for almost nothing. Having lived in China I have seen a lot of what is copied and passed off. The smaller size is nice but then looking for names, calander features and watching video would suck. Anyway, I noticed it would have Windows.... please.... there is hardly anything bright in the world of Windows. If people really want to see the light they weill break their Window and enter into the wide world of Mac.... yeah, I'm a Mac evangelist!

:builds the ultimate imprenatrable fort and hides deep within its catacombs:

um, i don't like mac compys.

where the hell is the copy and paste function?! THAT'S why i don't go to the apple computer lab on my campus; i gotta e-mail papaers to myself and print them out in the lab and mac has no copy+paste.

:goes off to live in safety as a hermit:

copy and paste is easy, just highlight what you want to copy and then press the apple key and the letter "C" that copies what was highlight and pasting is easy as well just press the apple key and the the letter "V". It took me about two weeks to get adjusted to the different OS but then once I did, wow, it makes working on a widows computer very borring and sometimes archaic. Give it a try and I think you will really like it.

BTW CFA, yeah sampling would be hard. I worked in a free standing unit and that was much better than a mall one. Where is this store that you worked in? Currently i travel to open up new stores, its a fun gig.

EXACTLY. Apple made it CLEAR they have patents on these specific technologies. What CAN be done is spurring other phone companies to make their OWN approach without copying the same exact technology.
