I'm new to modding and i need help plz!

I tried to put third party applications on it without any help but i failed twice and had to restore my iphone twice. The first time I had no idea restoring it deleted contacts and stuff cause im dumb but I got my iphone about 3 weeks after it came out and i was scared that those third party apps were like a virus or something but now I updated my phone all the way to 1.1.2 and I need help to put third party apps on it. So if somebody could help me step by step on aim or something like that, that would be awesome. Thanks a lot!

Even though this is for a 1.1.2 otb phone, it should work fine for a phone manually updated to a 1.1.2 phone. The procedures are the same in that you need to downgrade to 1.1.1 and then install an app that permits it to stay jailbroken when upgraded again to 1.1.2.
