I am running 3.0 beta, any questions?

Although the main purpose of this thread is for me to brag, my excuse for posting is so I can answer questions, which I am happy to do. I just loaded it on, everything is working. Since Apple said there are over 100 new features and they only mentioned like 20 in the conference, I thought I could go around and look for the new features and post here. If I find anything cool, I'll post a screen shot!

I have the same question. I really don't think any apps would work considering it is an entirely new OS. I bet the people on 1.1.4 can't use apps that are in the appstore right now.

I tried the Facebook app and it worked great. The file is 229MB.

hey, the beta can only be installed via a Mac is that correct??/

I used a PC. I have the ipsw firmware file.

I have the ipsw but I'm still downloading the SDK (its huge). I was led to believe that in order to load the 3.0 ipsw that you needed to drop it into XCode. Is that incorrect? If so, how did you do it?

I just held shift and hit restore in iTunes, then found the ipsw and loaded it. Worked great.

Weird that the only way to share a contact is with MMS. Wouldn't SMS work great with just the name and number?

HMMM, shift restore doesn't prompt me for what version I want to install. I have used it in the past though. I'll just use XCode when it finished downloading I guess.

I was just ready to jump tobthe developer route with apple and apple guy says only Mac ...it's a DMG file...

Napoleon, can testers have access to the update too?? If so, anyone need a tester?!?!

I hope I don't get banned for saying this, but the answer is torrent. OR, the more legit way is to just ask the dev who adopted you as a beta tester to send it to you...

EDIT: He'll need the UDID/UUID for your phone, you get this by downloading the BetaHelper app from the appstore.

ive just emailed him. can he add me as a tester to his dev account and share the 3.0 update?
