so i have a rather large lawsuit on my hands that i am suing another party for (not disclosing information on an online message board) but i was wondering if anyone knew the proper steps to get the formal text message records (the number the text originated from and the number it was sent to along with the text message body). part of the evidence has been admitted and disclosed via text, so obviously it would not be substantial evidence if i just took my iphone in and said "see they sent me this here and want to submit this to the case" lol.

i'm assuming i would have to contact AT&T to get this, so if anyone has any experience in this i would appreciate it. mods if you feel this should be moved please feel free as i wasn't exactly sure where this topic would go but for the immediate time being this seemed like the best spot for it until something more concrete was formulated. thanks.

I believe you can actually get that information directly from att's website.

Log in and click data usage I think. I would give you better instuctions but my data is temporary unavailable. But I know I have seen it on there where it shows the number where the text was sent from or received from.

In my professional experience, wireless providers usually require a warrant or a subpoena (depending on the state you live in) to get the actual text in the text messages.
