I hope the following will help anyone having problems with Parrot Bluetooth kits. My Iphone could see the car kit but when it tried to pair it failed with "Cannot pair with Parrot CK3100". I tried over a few days and no matter what it would not pair. After another shot i deleted all other phones that had been paired to the car kit and then paired the Iphone first time. It automatically transferred my contacts and syncs without prompting. Also the voice dial from the kit works perfectly. Thought i would post this in case anyone else has the same problem.
i was just wondering, i seem to have a problem in that i can pair my iphone with my parrot ck3100 and it all works fine, but if i leave the car or turn off the ignition so the parrot turns off, when i get in the car again, my iphone wont sync up with it unless i unpair it and pair it again. Is there no way to set the bluetooth on the phone to allow the connection automatically?
I would say it is the way your parrot kit has been wired. Make sure you have the 12v line connected to a perminent supply. I think it sounds like your 12v and ignition wires are both connected to the ignition supply. This would mean when the vehicle is switched off it will forget all the settings and you would have to pair again. Let me know how you get on.
Thanks for replying. I dont think that is the problem as i have used my car kit with many other nokia phones that pair automatically. Its almost as if my iphone wont automatically connect. Is there some setting that dictates whether you can authorise the connection automatically on the iphone or is it a standard thing that will connect anyway? Why cant these companys make things easy for a change?
Sorry, mine just shows the paired device on the Iphone as Parrot and syncs automatically. You could try and upgrade the firmware on your parrot by bluetooth if you have a dongle. Not that hard to do. You will find details here. http://www.parrot.com/uk/support/onlinehelpguides
Deleting paired devices Thanks for posting this. I also had problems pairing my iPhone 3GS with the Parrot CK3100. As mentioned above, I deleted all previous paired phones and was then able to pair the iPhone. I would also point out how to delete paired devices, as it took me a while to figure out. Go to Settings, Advanced Settings, Paired Devices. Find a device you want to delete like "Blackberry XYZ." Click on it and scroll down to <delete>. Also, I wish I could update my Parrot firmware but Mac is not supported! For shame, Parrot. Also Also, super lame that basic functions like "pair" are found in "advanced settings." Sounds pretty common to me, not advanced. Very awful Nokia-ish user flow.
