Zagg really have terrible customer service and are rude! I ordered one on the 30th August and cancelled the same day using their website option to cancel. I had read poor reviews of their product and service so went with BG. Three days later I received an email from Zagg saying that because they had not received my cancellation before they had shipped my order I was unable to cancel. I could of course return it for a refund (not including my postal charges). now they sent it from ireland UK but I was expected to pay for a return to the USA... how unfair was that! So I tried applying it anyway as i had paid for it... result was terrible orange peel effect and corners that would not stick. Their response was that the orange peel effect was normal and part of the product material!!! Absolutely dreadful service and response times. Wasted £15 of my money. The Bodyguard looks and feels superb and I still have a spare and the pair cost less than the IS. Hate IS with a passion now and would not recomend them to ANYONE I liked

Who the hell cares? I have a 16Gb white that I only put a screen protector on, I don't ever plan on using a case. It's a phone...it's unbelievable what a cottage industry has grown over all these cases/skins...it's just a phone. Keep repeating that and you'll be fine.

I guess if you plan on keeping your iPhone 3g for another 3-4 years then I see protecting it, knowing me I'll be upgrading/getting something new almost yearly so why should I care?

    loads of money?

It's just an EXPENSIVE phone! Why wouldn't you try to look after it?

This is the first phone that I've ever paid for since being on a contract after promising that I'd never pay because it's "just a phone" things are now a bit different, an iPhone isn't just a phone, it's a proper multiuse gadget and I for one would like to look after it!

ScratchX for cars which removes swirls and fine scratches should work the same for the back of 3g iphones.

That's somewhat true...Think about it, what was the last phone that you kept for more than 2 years anyway? By then they're wearing out and breaking down, numbers rubbing off and screens discoloring etc. Phones were made to upgrade periodically.

That said, the only reason I keep a case mate on my phone is in case I drop it, I don't want the screen to shatter or anything else to break. The case mate provides pretty good protection against shock. Its just a shame that I have a white 3G and it now looks black because of my black Case Mate Signature case.

You could also probably try Meguiar's Plast-X rubbing compound specially formulated for plastics and polycarbonate headlight lenses and stuff. It buffs the haze out of my headlights really well.

I have Ghost Armour on mine. (which is essentially the same as InvisibleSheild) I got put on for free. The guys working at the place i got it had some problems with their iPhone and i helped them re-jailbreak and unlock it on 2.0 (this way back in July). So they didn't charge me for it. :)

Heaven forbid. Has anyone called CNN yet? I'm only asking because normally they are first with disaster stories.

I know this is why they make covers and cases. To protect the iphone. Granted their are some people out there that love to show off their phone, specially if they go the white 16GB model. Just to show, "ya, I paid extra for it" or "my phone is better than your phone" either way, if you don't want it to scratch......throw a case on it. Whether a thin protective film or a full on case, if you don't want to damage it cover it.

I was being sarcastic. I have a 8gb black phone that is naked. I don't care if it gets scratched. If it gets too bad I will throw it out of a window and get a new one with my insurance. I really can't see the point of investing in an iphone (which let's face it has a main attraction of aesthetic appeal) and then wrapping it up in a very thick condom.

Okay... so I got the BodyGuard and installed it on my iPhone 3G. It went on seamlessly. It does have a little orange peel but nothing like the invisibleSHIELD. The corners laid down with no problems and I have no air bubbles. I did have some for a day or so but that was it. I would highly recommend the BodyGuard over the invisibleSHIELD. You can hardly tell BodyGuard is installed on the iPhone. The bonus is you get 2 sets of skins. I put the invisibleSHIELD on my husband's iPhone and his silence button broke on of Sunday and he had to get a new iPhone so now I can install the extra shield on his.

p.s. I received the BodyGuard in a couple of days vs. invisibleSHIELD that took forever.

Exactly... When it's time to get that new phone you can sell your old phone on eBay for serious money since it won't have any scratches. That's what I did with my VZ Voyager. I sold it for pretty much what I paid for it.
