I'm not too impressed with Time Machine as it seems my external hard drive is always spinning with the hourly backups. I guess I'm looking for a way to backup my data once or twice a week. I want to be able to schedule the backup time and what to be backed up. What suggestions do you have?
    Thanks

Rip you Rock! This is the perfect solution for me. I've now got it set to backup daily at 5:00 pm as most days at that time I'm on using it. Good fine.
    Thanks again:eek:k:eek:k

Now is there a way to get the external hard drive to sleep with operating my Mac? I have it set to backup at 5 but when I wake my Mac it wakes also and stays awake and even spins from time to time like it's monitoring. It may not be possible but it would be great for it to sleep till 5 and the sleep when it's done with the backup. I know I could physically turn it on and off but that's not gonna happen.
    Thanks
