Ah, buisness man. That's too many numbers anyways. If you got Caterpillar you could just search by number, if you know the numbers.

Looking up names in phone directory

If I had them memorized I would not need to look them up. So hopefully someone will come up with a simple look up in the June release.

I have 1564 and have broken them up into several categories, but a simple search would be a godsend.

Until then, this Search function might be the answer. Going to give it a go tonight.

    Categories

How do you set categories. I run on Outlook and have categories there and then have to break them down into separate directories. Is there a better solution?

I do it through AddressBook on the Mac. Entourage doesn't play will with categories/groups, so I skip it entirely and have the iPhone sync directly to the AddressBook.

Why not just navigate to the little letters on the right hand side of the contacts list. That seems to make it pretty fast I think.

My M's alone are 18 'pages' The search program I listed previously progressively narrows down the displayed contacts. I can get it down to one -three contacts within a few keystrokes. I like it but the want a $10 'donation' to register it. Seems a little high for a search application....

I don't think people are going to take the list seriously when it is full of apps that have already been created.

Here is my wish list: for the app store. No hacking/jailbreaking...ECT req.

    >An app that emulates/simulates/is the dock in Leopard or any Mac os x
-A dock for iPhone will be great. You can see your wall paper better (when you can HAVE wallpaper.) and when you drag your finger across it, it acts like you are dragging your mouse over a real dock.
-Incl. Magnification, position and size options.

    >A native storage app that allows files off Internet or email to be stored natively on iPhone. Can be imported into iPod. And can allow uploading to web.
Ex: you want to send a mp3 on ur iPod to your blog or email. It has a directory from your iPod and let's you upload.

    >Copy and paste plugin for safari and email.

    >Customization suite
-Incl: silver bar on top of screen (where the clock is)
    -colors of buttons
    -keyboard
-all audio output (some thing don't let you choose a custom sound for alerts. (ex: mail, SMS.)

    >touch zoom and zoom out for youtube. And iPod videos

(LOL) >iMassage: eternal phone vibration. The phone plays its vibrate alert... Forever!

    >touch graphic EQ for iPod funct.. (songs only) Visualizations too (like animated/ accurate eq bars)

    >wallpaper ability
-put a picture behind homescreen icons and make them transparent so the wall paper is more visible.
    >Replace carrier with image (accessed from Photo funtionality. or plain text.

Thanks! I hope these are possible and will show up in the future.
if someone makes or finds one of these in the app store plz let me know!

here a healthy one: heart rate counter iBeat. This is possible by holding the phone to your heart. Try it.if the accelerometer is sick enough it will pick up each jiggle caused by your heart beat. Calibration option is important. It should beep when it gets a beat.

    Just another app idea :)

    Snap shot

Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button simultaneously for a second, and a screen shot is taken and sent to your photos.

    COOL!

I work for a landscaping company, so having an application that is geared towards horticulture would be amazing! I'd like it to have all the similar functions to Epocrates Rx....except with plant material :):)

here's what i want, that my 7 year old kyocera 6035 smartphone has...

    1. speed dialing via keypad. for example, the keypad is active. i press "1" and it will present me with "home number" since i programmed my home number in the #1 slot. but if i continue to press another number up until "99" or 2 numbers since the speed dialing will go from 1 to 99, it will continue to dial that number, say like 411 or 611.

granted the favorites is close, but remember this is PHONE device first and foremost...

    2. voice dialing. again, i can program like 20 names and numbers that when i first get to the keypad screen, either i press buttons or say a name or word to dial.

I want a global search program like is built into PalmOS. This will search through the files I've loaded on through Filemagnet and databases loaded with FMTouch, etc. It's the only thing keeping me from enjoying my new iPhone 3G.
